The Walking Dead's Most Shocking Moments

The Walking Dead TV show has has some really shocking and some really screwed up moments. Here are my most shocking moments.

5)  A Grimey Moment in Cold Blood

A cannibalistic group of rebels has the group in sights. Making the cannibals think they have left a smaller group behind, they go in for the kill. A clever trap has the cannibals surrounded. The group decides it's best to kill them and Rick lets all his anger loose, brutally murdering the leader in cold blood. Its a moment you realise Rick is starting to lose the plot.

4) Deadly Childbirth

With zombies loose in the prison, heavily pregnant Lori runs with Maggie. Unable to continue as labour begins Lori asks Maggie to perform an emergency C Section. Unfortunately the child birth takes Loris life. Knowing that she will turn, Carl takes the responsibility to shoot his mum when she turns. The beginning of a life, and the end of another at the hands of her son.

3) A Family Reunion Denied

Beth has been trapped in a hospital trying to work off her rescue for some time. Noah, a friend she makes inside manages to escape and finds the main group. They come to rescue her. After thinking she is dead for some time, Maggie, Beth's sister is robbed of her chances to see her again as a shocking twist ends with Dawn, the leader of the hospital group accidentally shooting Beth in the head.

2) Right Under Your Nose

The whole of season two is based around the group trying to find Sophia. They have maps, they are crossing off areas as they expand out from the farm further and further. The group realise that Hershel is holding a load of zombies in the barn and break it open. They start shooting one after the other into the zombies. Hershel still believes all these people are his friends and family and is devastated at the carnage. After all the shooting ends one more zombie slowly emerges from the barn and Sophia is revealed. Suddenly everyone is in complete shock. The scene gives a moment where the group suddenly realise how Hershel felt.

1) Lizzie the Kiddie Killer

This has to be the most shocking and screwed up moment in the whole of The Walking Dead. Lizzie had been defending the walkers for some time and had a belief they are still the same people. She was left alone with her younger sister Mika and baby Judith while Carol and Tyreese went for supplies. Upon return, Carol and Tyreese find a blood soaked Lizzie stood over Mika and Judith with a knife in hand. To prove her theory that they are just like us, she had killed her little sister and was about to give the same fate to Judith.

Fear The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead was first, a graphic novel, written by Robert Kirkman and Illustrated by Tony Moore. It follows Rick Grimes and his family as they survive a zombie apocalypse.

In 2010, The Walking Dead received the 2010 Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series at San Diego Comic-Con International. It was also adapted into a TV series, loosely based on the comic book series.

The Walking Dead TV series has become highly successful, with 5.35 million viewers on it's very first episode to 17 million viewers tuning in for the premiere of season 5. 

With it's high popularity, The Walking Dead has also been adapted into a video game

...But wait! There's more!

There are also Webisodes which are a series of short videos which tell the back story of some of the characters seen on the TV series, including the back story of Hannah, the half torso Zombie Rick stumbles upon in season 1.

...And if you thought that was all, then you're in for a treat because there's still more!

Coming in 2015 is “Fear of the Walking Dead”. Set in Los Angeles we follow a divorced teacher, Sean Cabrera (Cliff Curtis) and a guidance counselor who is a single mum of 2 and is said to be the girl next door with an edge Nancy Tomkins (Kim Dickens) along with others in a kind-of prequel set just as the zombie apocalypse began. We'll see how humanity handled the epidemic and perhaps discover how it started. Get ready for it's release in July this year!

Secure your doors and barricade your windows! The Walking Dead are taking over... well, maybe just the entertainment industry.

My Top 3 TV Shows

Hiya, Bellistik here!

Recently SighFye, the kids and I have been eating The Natural Confectionary co. chews.

They're delicious and gluten free! Yay! Each wrapper also has 1 or 2 questions printed on them to ask one another as conversation starters. One of them was, "What is your favourite TV show?" This got us thinking and talking about our faves and I'm going to share my top 3 TV shows here with you!

3. The Walking Dead

Zombies have exploded into every possible story-telling stage from Movies to books, comics and even street pranks and performances.

Zombies have even moved into different genres, starting off in horror, we now see comedy, RomCom, and Drama Zombie movies. And of course, there's a zombie Television show...

The Walking Dead follows a group of people fighting for their lives and each others through a zombie apocalypse, we watch as they survive zombies as well as endure other people doing whatever it takes to survive. As the series unfolds we see the “walkers” decay, becoming more and more grotesque while at the same time we see what the people surviving have become, with what they will do to survive becoming more and more grotesque... 

The Walking Dead was one of the first shows I've seen to kill off characters you'd least expect, adding a shocking and suspenseful addition to the show. The show balances horror and drama well and pushes your buttons with characters having to make decisions you feel both against and for. With unexpected twists, dramatic suspense, horror suspense and jump scares, The Walking dead is a must watch.

2. Battlestar Galactica 

40 years earlier humans had had a war with Cylons, human made robots who turned on their creators. The war had long been over and Battlestar Galactica, an old battleship, was being readied to be retired. A surprise attack hits the twelve colonies, Kobol a group of planets where the humans reside and we follow a fleet of humans once again at war with the Cylons as they search for the mythical planet Earth.

2004's Battlestar Galactica is a well written, enjoyable series with characters to love, hate and sometimes be confused as to which feelings fit best! Our own ethical and moral codes are challenged endlessly as we question our discrimination's, witness our inner weaknesses and demons mirrored back to us and ask the question of what we would do in many debatable situations. We witness humans in desperate scenarios as they work collectively and then selfishly; from the many, to the few, to the self and back to the many. We watch people win and lose and see how we can be both heroic and villainous.

While fictional in a distant world, Battlestar Galactica still gives us the opportunity to look at ourselves as humans while enjoying the expected suspense and action of a Sci Fi series set in space. When I first started watching Battlestar Galactica I wasn't really into Sci Fi but with it's many twists and surprises as well as relate-able characters, this series will hook anyone.

1. Breaking Bad

Usually in movies and TV shows we meet lovable characters who we wish the best for, but in Breaking Bad we meet Walter White, at first he's a weedy, high school teacher who everyone knows and loves as the nice guy. His soft, polite demeanor soon turns around after he's diagnosed with lung cancer and begins with his plans to make big money fast to leave for his pregnant wife and teenage son. 

 

Breaking Bad keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time from the first episode to the last, 5 seasons later. And although you may not like the main character you can't help but keep watching because you must know what happens next!
